A Kick-Ass spinoff entitled The Stuntman is currently shooting in the UK.
Directed by former stunt performer Damien Walters and produced by Argylle and Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn, the film follows two brothers who both become stuntmen in the 1970s. No details on the cast have been announced.
The feature is part of a spin-off trilogy from the original 2010 superhero satire Kick-Ass. The first title School Fight, also directed by Walters, shot in 2021 but is yet to be released.
The Stuntman was reportedly filming in Hampshire last October. Vaughn and Walters, who produce the film through their respective outfits Marv Studios and Zebbo Productions, recently acquired an 80,000 sq. ft site in Derbyshire, UK which they aim to turn into a filming studio and stunt training facility.
According to Vaughn, The Stuntman is looking to launch at Toronto this year or Sundance 2025. The director’s latest film Argylle released last month to poor reviews and a tepid box office opening of $35m (against an estimated budget north of $200m).
