Celine Song's 'Materialists' starring Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson now filming

Past Lives director Celine Song has begun shooting her follow-up feature, Materialists.

A24 confirmed to KFTV that the film is in active production this spring in New York City. Previous reports stated the film would enter production on May 15. 

Materialists stars Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans and is being produced by 2AM's David Hinojosa, Killer Films' Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler, and Song herself, who also writes the script.

The film follows a matchmaker, whose lucrative business gets complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients.

At 2024's EFM, Sony picked up international rights to Materialists, excluding Russia, China, and Japan while A24 will handle US distribution.
