The sequel to the 2003 cult hit is filming in Los Angeles.

Production is underway on the Freaky Friday sequel reuniting Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
Filming began in Los Angeles on Monday, 24 June.
The sequel is directed by Nisha Ganatra, written by Jordan Weiss and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Producers are Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Other returning cast members from the 2003 cult hit include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. Joining the cast are Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
The sequel picks up roughly twenty years after the 2003 film left off. The story follows Tess, played by Curtis, and Anna, played by Lohan, as they navigate the challenges of Anna’s upcoming wedding. Tess and Anna, now a mother and soon-to-be stepmother, face these challenges head on with the added complication of history repeating itself.
The 2003 feature was an adaptation of the 1972 comedy novel of the same name written by Mary Rodgers. The popular novel has been adapted for screen in feature films in 1976, 1995, 2003, 2018 and 2020.
The sequel will be released in theatres in 2025.
