'M3GAN 2.0' production begins in New Zealand

Blumhouse and Atomic Monster's M3GAN 2.0 has begun production in New Zealand.

The sequel to the 2022 horror hit M3GAN, M3GAN 2.0 sees director Gerard Johnstone and writer Akela Cooper returning behind the camera.

Set to reprise their roles are Allison Williams as Gemma, the roboticist who built M3GAN - which stands for Model 3 Generative Android - and Violet McGraw as Cady, for whom M3GAN was built.

Also returning are Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole and Jen Van Epps as Tess, while new to the sequel are Asohka's Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Silicon Valley's Aristotle Athari, and Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement.

Producers Jason Blum, James Wan and Williams. Executive producers are Michael Clear and Judson Scott for Wan’s Atomic Monster outfit, Ryan Turek and Mark Katchur for Blumhouse, and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath, for Divide/Conquer.
