The BFI skills cluster for the North of England Screen Alliance North is joining forces with Women in Film and TV to boost the opportunities for northern women on its mentoring scheme.
WFTV’s scheme, entering its 14th year, provides a six-month placement with one-to-one mentoring with senior industry professionals for mid-career women in film, TV and digital media.
Now Screen Alliance North is joining forces with the group to support the mentoring scheme and enhance the role of mid-career women from the North of England.
The group has funded four places for women in below-the-line roles, while other partners Liverpool Film Office, North East Screen and Screen Manchester have provided funding for an additional three places in above-the-line roles.
The seven women will be selected via what has been described as a “detailed process” with each mentee paired with a relevant industry professional to support them through the mentorship programme.
“This well-established programme has been highly successful and we’re delighted to be partnering to strengthen its impact across the North and ensure that our exceptional regional talent can grow and be nurtured” said lead partner for Screen Alliance North Caroline Cooper-Charles.
Applications for the scheme are open until Monday 16 September with interested candidates invited to apply here. Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience and all roles within the screen industry will be considered.
