BBC drama The Guest, written, created and executive produced by Matthew Barry and produced by Quay Street Productions will begin filming in Wales this month.

The series is a co-commission with BBC Cymru Wales starring Eve Myles and Gabrielle Creevy. Sion Daniel Young, Emun Elliott, Bethan Mary-James, Julian Lewis Jones, Joseph Ollman, Clive Russell, and Catherine Ayers join them in the cast.

The four-part drama follows the relationship between Ria, who has never had time nor opportunity to think about what she might want from the world, and a powerful businesswoman named Fran (Myles), for whom she begins cleaning. Ria is intoxicated by Fran's confidence but when her advice leads to a shocking event, their lives become intertwined by secrets and dangerous plots leading to a game of cat-and-mouse.

Davina Earl and Nicola Shindler executive produce for Quay Street Productions, with Rebecca Ferguson and Nick Andrews for the BBC. Ashley Way will direct all four episodes, with Karen Lewis producing. ITV Studios will handle international distribution.

The Guest received Welsh Government support via Creative Wales and is produced by Quay Street Productions.
