Oklahoma city Muskogee launches film incentive

Oklahoma city Muskogee has launched a film production incentive program. 

Film Muskogee, an initiative of the Muskogee Tourism Authority with support from the city of Muskogee, is billing the recently launched program as "the largest collective incentive offered to filmmakers by any small city in Oklahoma."

In a statement, Film Muskogee director Bryce Marshall said: "Our goal with this incentive program is simple: we want to make Muskogee the most appealing destination in Oklahoma for filmmakers."

Film Muskogee’s incentive program offers rebates across three categories: feature films up to $25,000, TV shows up to $15,000 and commercials and music videos up to $5,000 on qualified spending.

The statewide film incentive program is a 20% credit on qualified expenditures for film and TV productions, with various uplifts available for using Oklahoma soundstages, post-production facilities, and more. 

Other regional Oklahoma incentives include the Cherokee Nation incentive program, the Oklahoma City program, and incentives in the cities of Bethany and Yukon.

Productions to film in Oklahoma recently include Warner Bros' film Twisters and FX's series Reservation Dogs.
