'The Regime', 'Napoleon' locations among EUFCN award shortlist

The European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) has released the shortlist for its 2024 EUFCN Location Awards.

Of the 14 entries received, the shortlist of five nominees includes Mdina featured in Apple TV+'s Napoleon, and The Regime's Schönbrunn Palace, made for Sky. 

Nominees were selected based on the significant role of each location in the story and its remarkable impact on the audiovisual work. The winner will be announced during Berlinale's European Film Market in February 2025.

The full list of nominees are:

• Frøya for Billionaire Island - Midgard Film Commission Norway
• Mdina for Napoleon - Malta Film Commission
• Schönbrunn Palace for The Regime - Vienna Film Commission
• Staatsoper Stuttgart for Cranko - Film Commission Region Stuttgart
• Tajogaite Volcano for La hojarasca - Canary Islands Film

The eight-member jury is composed of Tammy Glover (SVP Production, Sony Pictures Television, USA), Caroline Greville-Morris (Production Designer, UK), Benjamin Hendriks (Supervising Location Manager, Netherlands), EJ Richards (Supervising Location Manager, UK) and Sabine Schulmeyer.

The winner of the EUFCN Audience Location Award 2024 will be determined by the public, which opens on December 2, 2024 and closes on January 31, 2025.
