South America-set Swiss series begins filming in Zurich

Filming has started in Zurich on the Swiss series Unsere kleine Botschaft (English title: Our Small Embassy) produced by Switzerland-based Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) and Fidelio Films.

The series is set in an unnamed South American country as a family office community tries to cope with the absurd everyday life of a Swiss embassy. The team around Ambassador Bea (played by Susanne Kunz) navigates the turmoil of politics and diplomacy while juggling private challenges and relationships.

Kunz is joined by Jonas Gygax and the Swiss-Colombian actress Sandra Zellweger, as well as comedian Anaïs Decasper and Swiss parodist Birgit Steinegger. Matthias Schoch and Danny Exnar also star.

Filming will take place in the Zurich area until mid-February 2025. The showrunner is Mauro Mueller. The concept comes from Marco Edmonds and Björn Hering produces for Fidelio. The scripts were developed in the writer's room under the direction of head authors Pascal Glatz and Christian Wehrlin; directors are Johannes Bachmann and Johannes Schröder.
